Yes, go to a website of a broker. Scottrade is good because it has $7 trades and its research isn't bad at all. TD Ameritrade has $9.99 trades and it has a little better research and better streaming charts and a lot better research if you are a technical analyst.

Have you looked into a Traditional IRA? Depending on your age and needs, that may be better for you.

Congratulations on the Roth! That is a huge step towards financial success.

I would recommend that you open a Roth with the company that controls the fund you want rather than a discount broker. If you open an account with TD Ameritrade, they will charge you $49 to buy a mutual fund from Vanguard. If you open the account with Vanguard directly, there is no fee to buy the fund.

You can open a Roth IRA online through Schwab (a discount broker). Since the account will have a maximum yearly investment cap you (probably) won't be making a great many trades - and they have a wide variety of no-load mutual funds that cost nothing for you to invest in.

You can down load an application from the site you wish to open it with but will probably need to mail it in.
