Listen, I can't tell you unless I look at stats because I don't get enough coverage to notice any of the other teams, but people....GET OFF the Ducks bandwagon. Granted Bryz is decent but Giguere and Bryz were not the best Duo AT ALL. Bryz won 10 of 27 games an awful 37%, he was 5% over .500 with a 10-8 record, he played 27 games to Giguere's 56, and was in net only 32% of the time.
Now, real options, as the asker said, Nabokov and Toskala were competitive with 26 and 25 wins for a total of 51 wins, that's a good Duo.
Preds Vokoun and Mason split time again and created 51 wins with neither losing more than 12.
You could also make a claim for Hasek and Osgood cause Osgood go 20 decisions out of 21 games only 3 times getting no points with 3 loses and 6 times getting at least a point. And most of those times in net were to fill in for a hurt Hasek, so he did what was asked of him.

The options are almost endless here when it comes to the Western Conference. You've pointed out Backstrom and Fernandez in Minnesota, as well as Giguere and Bryzgalov in Anaheim and Smith and Turco in Dallas, all of which are good choices here. Also, the mentioning of Nabokov and Toskala from San Jose this past year, and may I add Vokoun and Mason from Nashville this year, even though Vokoun is now with Florida. The closest team in the East from this year would have been Buffalo, who played most of the year with Miller and Biron as their goalies. However, now that Biron is in Philly, it is easy to see that the East does not have the same luxury that teams in the West do of having 2 guys who can be the #1 guy on any given night. Raycroft and Toskala might do something like that this coming year, but it's way too early to suggest that now. As well, someone pointed out Huet and Price in Montreal; that's also way too early to speculate on. The Sens were hoping Gerber would pressure Emery for the #1 job there, but that didn't materialize and Gerber saw no action during the playoffs. No, this nod has to go to a Western Conference team. I would say probably Bryzgalov and Giguere in Anaheim get the edge here because of how both played in the recent playoffs as well as the past regular season. Bryzgalov starts the playoffs because Giguere is hurt and goes 3-1 in the opening round series against Minnesota, one that Anaheim won in 5 games. Then, Giguere comes in and is lights out pretty much, going 13-4 the rest of the way and giving Anaheim the first ever Stanley Cup on the West coast. Clearly Bryzgalov and Giguere in Anaheim get my vote here.

Marty Turco and Mike Smith (rookie of the year) is the best goaltending duo in all of hockey.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere and Ilya Bryzgalov is a great duo, and probably the best now. As for the future, look for Henrik Lundqvist and Al Montoya. Lundqvist had a great season with the Rangers, being nominated for the Vezina, and Montoya had a great season with their AHL affiliate Hartford Wolf Pack.

I think it has to be Ilya Bryzgalov and J.S Giguere in Anaheim.
Bryz won a few games in the playoffs while Giguere was out and there wasnt really a dropoff in Bryzgalov

I agree with a lot of your points but would ask this if you were a gm would you want them or broduer and whats his name or luongo and whats his face. I think its clear that having one solid goalie that can play over 70 games is what anyone would want.

Totally with you on Nabby and Tosk, until they got split up. No question.
Although Roy/Aebischer was a hardcore duo, too.

Giguire has all the technics and once was the best and is the most expierienced.
Bryzgalov is the best at his age and is quick.
Together they are the best.
