can you make it not forgetting chord progression?

I study personally jazz piano without any teacher.

when I try to improvise quite often I fail to remember the chord progression cuz I am so eager to make pretty improvisation line.

Any advice?

The only thing is to improvise more often. Also, take one song and play it over and over, and try to disect the chord changes.

Go through and play only notes that are in the chord, like on quarter notes.

Also, memorize the melody, this will help you hear the chord changes better, so you'll know where you are in the tune. Try to hear the melody in your head as you are playing through the changes. Remember that your solo is like a variation of the melody.

I went through the Berklee Books, studied 2, 5, 1 changes etc.. I have a great set of ears.. I hear the changes. No right way or wrong way.. get out there and learn from others.. Wish I started on keyboards.. I've played guitar for over 40 years. Practice, practice, practice.. I still do!

stay in the same key and use the main chords or notes from the 1, 4, 5 and land on those

If it feels good do it. If you really want to stick to the chord progression, write it down. Jazz is freedom of expression - you are free to express yourself how you like.

write down everything you have learn and study them that one day you will be a pro jazz playa
