This is a bit too broad a question to be easily answered. What, if anything, does Sweden have to do with our freedoms? Sweden, for one does not get involved nearly as much as the U.S. and the U.K. in world affairs. I do not believe that "terrorists" hate us because we have so many freedoms, so much as that we are increasingly involved in the struggles in the Middle East.

Sweden doesn't spread their freedoms all over the world through mass media. Sweden doesn't have an open door policy for immigration. Sweden is a target, but very low on priority.

However, saying it is "this" or "that" is simplistic. They hate us for many reasons. No attempt to appease will work.

Attack the biggest target with the highest pay off. That's the US and the UK.

I know it sounds corny to say they attack us because of our freedoms, but one need only look at what the insurgents are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan to see that it is true. Islamists want to take away freedoms that they feel are "unislamic".

The terrorists hate the US because the sneaky, greedy sheiks who are taking all the oil money for themselves are diverting the anger of the poor arabs away from themselves. The US has paid for all the oil from the arab countries. But the sheiks(sharks) have not spread it around fairly. They should have built schools, and businesses, jobs, etc. But no they are living in palaces, they have yachts, limousines, gold, etc. The women are slaves, the children are angry, and ignorant, and the Imams are doing the sheiks dirty work of keeping the heat off the sheiks.

Why hasn't any one ever attacked Sweden? It's not exactly the financial capital of the world like say a city like New York is it? Heres a simplier way of puttting it. If Sweden was wiped out tommorrow what does we lose? A few clocks, knives, and some chocolate? They want the key ingrident of freedom in the world destroyed, America. Once they destory America, everything else will fall with it.

I don't think even the best trained psychiatrist could understand the mind of a terrorist. I mean...how to you understand the psyche of a group that is willing to strap several pounds of explosives to themselves, run into a group of innocent civilians because a few US soldiers or Iraqi cops are there, and blow themselves up...killing themselves, their targets, and a dozen or so innocents (and wounding countless others)?

Or rather...why would you want to understand that psyche?
