I am having a surprise party, and I have a indoor park shelter house reserved. There are going to be kids there. Do you have ideas on something to make it fun for all. I was thinking a dj or sumo suit rental, but those might be too expensive. I am thinking something $200 or less.

I guess it depends on your husband's interests. I'm not sure what you mean by a park shelter - a state or national park, or a local city park?

I assume you're holding it at a park so that guests can enjoy the outdoors. So if you have access to a lake or pool, let that be the event. If your spouse enjoys baseball or volleyball, set up a game. Heck, bring bocce ball, croquet, etc, something people of many ages and abilities can try out.

For an outdoor even, I think a DJ or a character or whatever would be an expensive distraction.

Yes! It is best when you have family and friends (kiddo's included)...have them get involved...you do need to sit down and get a theme together...$200 including food or $200 for decorations/theme? The Dollar Tree or something similar has MANY themes and ideas in their party section and go from there...I was HIGHLY impressed with their selection. Most important- have fun and don't get too stressed out about the little things...I think he will be most touched that you planned that special day for him to celebrate w/ those close to you all...
