I'm using my sister's computer to write this so that's how I'm online.

It may be that I kicked it a few times too many when it didn't work but it can't load to the desktop everything else works fine. When it's on safe mode it can load the desktop but cannot go online. I just tried to reformat it but it still can't load the desktop.

So how do I fix it? I'll report you without hesitation if you spam.

Hit F8 to go into safe mode. When you go into safe mode, look in device manager and see if you have any yellow signs. A bad card can cause the desktop to not load. Also kicking it may have loosened a connection causing a problem.

Hopefully it's not a virus that's embedded itself onto your hard drive. There are some that formatting will not clean off.

And BTW, safe mode is only for troubleshooting purposes. the DLL files for other functions in the operating system do not load in safe mode. That's why you can't go online.

Sounds like you just need to boot the computer and right-click on your vacant desktop. Select Arrange Icons by>Show desktp icons.

You can't go online in Safe Mode because Windows doesn't load all the drivers and network utilities in Safe Mode.

PS. The ain't made to be kicked.

When you boot up the computer and are past the login screen (not in safe mode either)

Press and hold the keys CTRL ALT and DEL for a second, a little window that says "Windows Task Manager" should pop up.

Press File, Click on "New Task (run..)" and type without the quotes "Explorer" if that doesnt work then i dont know. Good Luck, hope that helps.
