Any material that will not stain is perfect. If it is water resistant it will be a great feature. Market to young women. Find message boards for moms and other places that moms would go and talk about what you do. Set up a website that you can promote with different designs. If you only have one color it will not work out because not everyone will want that color. If you can make high quality things then you should do it. Handmade sells. Other than that you would have to have a large amount of money to hire a company to make them. Set up a detailed business plan of what you would like to do, need to do and where you want this to go. For manufacturing, try outsourcing to a local sheltered workshop (like Goodwill Industries). I've used them with great success.

For marketing, put flyers up where there are new moms (Babys R Us, etc.).
