I want to know that they would look like on my comp monitor, since I can run 720p, like all monitors. My monitor is 1680x1050 widescreen dell, and i have heard it can run 1080i with some scaling. The reason behind all of this is that I want to get a 360, but it's not worth it without HD television, and I can use my monitor for that. I would really appreciate the help.

There is no 1080i video.

i = interlaced. Basically, the video device is displaying HALF of the image, every "other" line, then next frame it displays the OTHER HALF. So a 540p device or better can do 1080i. Get it?

Your monitor can already do 1080p (or very close to it).
