It doesn't make any funny noises, or anything else abnormal. It is just VERY HOT when you touch the outside sides of the refrigerator. I'm just curious if this can be serviced. Does this indicate a specific function that can be performed, for instance refilling the freon? I also would like to know if this heat is causing it to cost more to run. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

It sounds like dust build-up on the coils or the vent in the front of the unit (at the bottom) may be plugged with dust. The unit needs air circulating to cool the compressor. Pull the frig out and check.

Refrigerator Hot To Touch

Some refrigerators have Mullian heaters to keep moisture from rusting out, especially around the door openings. Some
types run hot freon tubing through the area for the same purpose. If its electric, it may have a switch that says "energy
saver" or something like that and you can just switch it off.

Refrigerators work by dissipating heat, it has to go somewhere other than the inside. The back, sides and bottom should have at least a small space for circulation. Keep bottom vent clear.

I guess maybe your fridge position does not allow good air circulation for the motor/compressor (normally produce heat while running). You might consider moving the back of your fridge not too close to the wall.
