There are two kinds of creationists.
The Young Earth creationists say that there was no Pangea, that the evidence of an ancient continent was manufactured 6000 years ago, along with fossils, the Grand Canyon, etc. It's always the same argument and not something you can argue with logically.
Old Earth creationists accept science. They simply say the whole process was started billions of years ago by a higher power, one who watches over us today. There is no scientific evidence that disputes this. You can talk science with them quite logically.
Young Earth creationists and Richard Dawkins insist that science and religion are not compatible. They're both wrong.

They way you ask the question you think that creationists are less educated than believers of Big Bang and accidental evolution over billions of years.
I can tell you, creationists know that in the past all of the continents began as one large super-continent. Over time, the continent broke up and the different continents moved apart; this resulted in the positioning of the continents today.
All scientists in geology believe in that same model. It's only the time frame that has a different scale between the two viewpoints.
----
Who was there some millions of years ago to verify that the drift never exceeded 5cm a year? This is just a theory - one of several possible models. Then you add other observable facts -and there are no blinders which prevent you turning your head away from the dogmatic millions of years.

For each 'creationist' there would be their own answers.
Pangaea is only the last one-continent formed when all the continents came together. [It was named by Alfred Wegener, a meteorologist]. It has happened 6-7 times before in our geologic time scale.
Actually Pangaea I began to separate the first time aprox. 190 million yrs. ago in the Early Paleozoic Era. For some reason, [possibly due to a shift in the tectonic magma movement], it stopped and Pangaea II formed aprox. 180 million yrs. ago in the Late Paleozoic Era. At this time Gondwanaland began to drift apart from Pangaea II.
This is also the period in which there is geologic evidence of a meteor strike which caused mass extinction of sea creatures. [Not to be confused with the Chicalube event].
Pangaea II began to separate aprox. 160 million yrs. ago in the Mesozoic Era.
65 million yrs. ago/Late Mesozoic Era, this era ended in a biological crisis. [Geologic evidence has been found of early mammalians in this Era in the Cretaceous Period]. Again, most were destroyed. At this time it is believed that the asteroidal or meteor collision occurred called the Chicalube Event off the Yucatan Peninsula which, it is thought by most geologists, caused a 'nuclear winter' over a long period of time. Layers of iridium,[now called the 'KT Boundary'], have been unearthed all over most of the earth. Many scientists/geologists believe that this may have been one of the reasons for the demise of at least the large dinosaurs, although very small animals seem to have survived in many cases.
This is purely a geologic, scientific answer... and has nothing to do with 'creationism'.....

They don't have to explain anything. The blinders they keep on their eyes allow them only to see the straight and narrow, all the while ignoring facts. Ernst, for example, spouted out rubbish about how Creationists believe the continents were connected at one time. What he doesn't mention is that at the rate of (say) 5 cm/year it takes very much more time than 6000 years to build the Atlantic Ocean. But then, those blinders are very effective in screening out facts.

I see lots of really brilliant 'answers' to this question in this thread. People who haven't a clue about anything sem to need to bash others to validate their own self-worth.
The answer is obvious to anyone with a shred of intelligence and intellectual integrity. The difference between creationists' understanding and that of the 'gee, it just happened' crowd is one of causitive agent--an intelligence behind what we see or an incredible series of dumb luck random occurrences, take your pick. And there's no incontroconvertible proof to back either interpretation. Either call is ultimately a matter of faith.
