I would have to have some trust for a person before I could say that I really honestly liked them and wanted them to be a friend. People have to be trustworthy, honest, sincere and a true friend before I trust them on a level that I no longer think about it. If I dislike someone, there is no trust, period.

An excellent question!

I do not like someone I can't trust, because no liking someone will be based on not trusting that person in some regard.
Trusting someone I dislike is not possible, because there will be something about them which puts me off and when I'm put off I can't trust them.
It's strange.

I base the quantity of trust that I have for any person based on their actions. It is more of a wave form that goes up and down commensurate with the behaviours. Liking or disliking the person has never entered into the equation for me.

I could like a distrusted person, but I would find it hard to trust a disliked person, for some reason....

I don't know trusting is not always the best thing neither is being mistrusting, trust can be misunderstood, trust is a good thing in lots of ways, I generally like people and trust them until they give me a reason not to that is just me

A person could do both of those things, and most of us have done so sometime in our lives. I'd choose to do neither, as the person I currently am.

However, 'could' cuts a wide swath into the future.

I can't predict what the foolish human I'm likely to become might do.

NO, friendship is about trust, love is about trust.
Why should i trust a person that i dont like? I dont like them because i dont trust them.

Yep
I like everyone and I trust everyone until they, for some reason, prove to me that they can't be trusted.
Then I usually forgive them anyway.
It is too hard for me not to like people.
There is something to like about everyone.

That doesn't sound like any good combination. Your intutition is telling you something. Ignore as you own peril. I wonder if that answer would fit on a fortune cookie?
