From what I understand it was during the Nixon administration that HMO's in the United States become popular. The interest in "Sicko" could only be described as a fact finding in order to denounce the assertions that Mr. Moore makes. If they don't know the subject matter, how can they deny his claims? I'm sure it's going to be a bitter pill for them to swallow. Obviously the pun was intended!

I live in Canada and Sicko isn't playing near any theatres where I live yet.
For years the AMA in the US and most GOP governments have called our health system socialist, told lies about it. Then the Conservatives get in provincially in 95, destroy not only the health system , but our education system, try to privatize everything , then blame the liberal gov who defeated them with a horrendous deficit that it's their fault our health system is so bad in Ontario . The Conservative feds haven't helped alot either.
Michael Moore tends to be slightly ahead of the curve in shaping opinions- bowling for columbine, farenheit 9/11. People want to see what exactly is freaking out the Bush administration and the GOP, that's why theatres are packed. Moore shows Americans that there are other systems that can actually take care of them when they are ill and it's not as horrible as painted by the AMA, the media and the government.

Lenny, I thought you were dead? Welcome back. This is going to be a tough one for the republican spin machine to handle. Health care and its costs has no party, it's an enemy that attacks both sides of the aisle. People who don't support universal health care are anti-American. What does it say about the greatest country on earth that we ignore our own sick citizens if they can't afford to pay for health care?

No. most cons won't watch the propoganda, but those who do are probably smart enough to download the Torrent for free and not line Moores pockets anymore.

What ever gave you the idea that the morons spending real money to see that movie were Conservatives? You are in serious error if you believe that.

Because Conservatives love a good fiction film, and that's what Moore makes, fiction films.

Lol, you take the care they are getting. I'll stick with good care from my doctor, you cannot convince me that the government is giving Mayo Clinic degree of care to those guys.
