Mr X is applying pressure in his grip, the strength from this will be from his hand and forearm, Mr Y will need to overcome the frictional force generated by the hand grip.
Mr Y can use his entire arm and shoulder strength to pull his hand out. If both parties are not fixed then with a little pulling and pushing he can increase the force generated even more and free himself.
Try it with a partner, it is very hard to keep hold of someones hand if they don't want you to even when they are significantly weaker than you.
Another thing to consider is both parties endurance as Mr X may tire more easily and therefore reduce his pressure.
Assuming equal endurance then Mr Y need just wait and use minimal resistance until Mr X can't grip as hard and free himself.
It is a common lesson in Martial Arts that attacking expends more energy than defending.

Mr Y can undoubtedly free his hands. The two men have equal strength however the act of opening your hands whilst someone tries to close them is much easier than trying to keep someone's hands closed.
You must also remember that when Mr X gets tired then Mr Y can open his hands with little effort.

Over simplified question.
The system is reliant on the strength of Mr X's grip vs Mr Y's body strength and ability to effectively use his body to provide effective levers.
As the system proceeds perspiration between the mens hands will decrease the effect of friction and provide an advantage to Mr Y.
Indeed also the cardio vascular fitness of the two men will become a factor as they try to sustain their physical exertion. This requires some intellectual ability in deciding how when and to what magnitude to apply such force thus expending energy.

He would need to press on Mr X with his foot or something when pulling, but since they are both the same strength, he probably wont be able to pull away.
But you have overlooked many important variables here. What about the friction of their hands? If Mr Y's hand is slippery, then yes, he could pull away.
And strength does not simply equal force. Force equals mass times acceleration, so strength is needed to accelerate, but other variables can affect the acceleration, such as technique and posture.
Also, do they both have same muscle mass or just strength?
I am afraid yo have overlooked many variables.

No because it mr X will be holding Mr Y's hand with his main hand which mr X uses to write or do most of the things and that is why Mr X will use no so strong hand of Mr Y.

well, the men may have the same physical strength but they're not using the same thing. one man is squeezing his hand and the other man is using the strength of his entire arm and the weight of his body. so yes he would be able to free himself , i dont really think strength has much to do with it. its more about physics. if the guy being held was much weaker but 50 lbs. heavier he could probably get loose. on the other hand the guy being held could be much stronger but be a lot smaller and lighter making it easier for the bigger guy to hold on.

I take it that i sudden pull it not in mind. It would appear to me that Mr Y would find it difficult if not impossible to free his hand. This is because Mr X is in an advantageous hold, his hand is on the outside squeezing in, Mr Y would have to try to expand his hand, that movement is weaker than the squeeze
