The entire outer surface of the temple can be given a chemical treatment to protect it from erosion by air and time. In Tamilnadu Kanyakumari for the statue of Thiruvalluvar which is in the midst of sea the government has given such a chemical coating.

The inner walls and statues can be cleaned properly and repaired periodically. Government or the department in charge should keep up the surrounding of the temple to ensure this-
