What order do you obtain degrees in (e.g. Bachelor) and can you briefly explain each one?

1. Bachelor - the 4-year degree.

2. Masters - continuing on to graduate school, often concentrating on research and training. 1-3 years. Often requires writing a long paper called a thesis.

3. Doctorate - Around 5 years but can take longer. Often requires training, research, and writing a kind of book called a dissertation.

Associate - 2 years of college
Bachelor - 4 years of college
Master - 6 years of college
Doctor - 8 years of college

You can get a Bachelor's degree without getting an Associate's. You can get a doctorate without getting a Master's.
