WLAN is essentially just another word for wi-fi. Your laptop apparently has a wi-fi card in it already (most new ones do), so you should be good to go.

Read The Friendly Manual (RTFM) for your laptop AND router, then call your ISP if you're still stuck.

The Manuals have all the info you need. Still stuck?:

Please re-post and describe your specific problem, with the program name and error messages (if applicable) and a description of your PC, with make and model, and operating system.

If your machine hasn't completely given up the ghost, reboot the darn thing to see if you can re-create the problem, taking careful notes on everything you do along the way. Write down any error messages you encounter and don't leave out any of the "technogobbledygook".

Even better, capture a screenshot of every error message you get. If you don't already have a favorite screen-capture program (like MWSnap), use the one inside Windows:

Press ALT + Print Screen to capture the current window, open Paint or WordPad, select Edit > Paste, then save the file in your documents folder with a descriptive title, such as "Error message when trying to access My Documents.jpg."

That way, you can send us links so we can see for it ourselves.

Then, we can try to help.
