If you have a newly installed wooden picket fence, how long are you supposed to wait to put on water seal?

I was told by someone to wait 2 months.

If it is pressure trated wood, a month or two is advised. You will probably notice that the wood seems wet/damp to the touch. It needs to dry out before painting.

I like the older grey look so I am going to do mine the next year when the color and ageing is about right. It is all in what you want really.

It all depends on what you put on it. Two months depending on the paint.
