I dont know how to prevent it. I'm 20, and its making me start thinking really hard about getting married. You think you know someone and love them so well until they're killing you one night. There's always risks in life, but you shouldnt have to be evaluating your mate on "Will he kill me in 10 years?". Its sick and twisted, thats for sure..

It is truly a sad thing when a man kills his family. I know there are mental issues involved but still it is hard to accept.
In the over all picture though those men are a very small percentage of men that would actually do this so not all men are bad.
It is something that is hard to understand, along with women that kill their children and claim they were depressed or that they thought the children were demons. How do we really explain those women too? For people that have children we all have those moments but we don't kill them.
So many questions. The more one thinks about these situations the harder it is to understand.
I have a co-worker that was on steroids for a medical condition and one day his wife was reading a book. He said that when she turned the pages the noise was so loud and bothersome to him that he wanted to get up and choke her. He got up and left the house instead. Maybe these so called drugs ought to be monitered a whole lot closer.

I dont think that there is any preventing it.
The devil is hard at work, and people are going crazy.
I live in a small town, and even our news stories are filled with kidnappings, rape, and murders.
There are shootings where the innocent bistanders die, and what I hate most of all, is all the infant and child murder cases I hear about.
There have been at least 11 infants/ new borns and toddlers killed in my area this year alone.
There is no other explanation other than it is the devils work. No sane person could be doing any of these things. Especially not a mother.

I wondered the same thing myself. It is very scary. I believe the wrestler had issues with steroids, and i believe there was problems going on in his life that noone knew about. many things happen in peoples lives that noone knows about, and alot of people don't get help for the problems they are having. I think it eventually builds up and they explode. I have been having problems in my marriage, so it is hard for me to give advice to anyone about a marriage issue when i can't even solve my own problems. My husband is an accountant and its sad to say but i always think about the story of the accountant that killed his whole family and then ran and made a new life for himself. My advice to anyone who is having problems in their marriage is to talk to someone about the problems and get advice on what to do about the problems they are having. i think that is where alot of people go wrong. I have not yet sought help for my problems, but i am in the process of doing so at this time. i

I really do not know and i find it to be unbelievable that a good man with every thing going for him can do such a thing. Why did he do it? Why kill his wife and children for crying out loud? It makes me sick inside to thank that the wemon we love have to fill afraid of us and may be thanking that we all are able to do such an act. To all the ladies who answer this, do you find your self afraid that the guy your with could do this to you and his kids now? What dose that mean? is trust lost to the actions of some men by wemon and the man they are with even though they have nothing to do with it at all? All i can say is i hope not but yet we should all should try to see the sines when they arise. be safe ladies

cracked under the pressure, lost it, something was probably brewing inside them for a long long time, maybe mental illness, failure, rage.. at something, some are just ultra controlling individuals who cant cope so they feel they have to kill to control. Sadly i dont think you can prevent it unless you see signs before hand and intervene or something happens, its really unpredictable at times. These men can put on one face to the world and another to their family

For a social science section, some of the answers here are rather disappointing.
The 'man' in question here is not evil.
They are becoming mentally ill.
The question is, are the murders increasing, or is the media merely beginning to broadcast them?
Neither is it a masculine trait.

Two categories:
Those that feel incredible anger at their family, perhaps from steroid rage or other drug based distortion, kill them and then realize what they have done and kill themselves from remorse;
Those that feel that their family can not survive without them because of the conditions of the world and take them along for blessed peace.

Guys get stressed out because they are the "MAN" of the house can't handle the pressure because they feel they are failing and cant control what is going on or is failing... then you have LAW & ORDER at your house.... I Guess they feel this is a way to take control of their life?
