I work on the sales floor at JCPennies and am always seeing hot guys. Is it ok to ask people out I am helping or ask for their number or is that bad? Also, I am gay and like guys. I think woman will sooner complain about harassment than a man. I mean, it's not like I am going to harass the person. I would just like to ask the guy's I like for their number and if they say 'no', I will go back to doing my job and it will be done. Do u think this is a bad idea though and I should just stick to my job without asking out hot customers?

Only if you want to lose your job. Gay or straight, bosses frown on that sort of thing. However, if a customer askes you out.......

I would say go against those instincts to ask the customer out. Your job would be on the line if you asked the wrong person and they got angry or freaked.

What I do recommend if offer to help them and use all your resources and raw energy. That way if they are attracted back to you they will make the move. You keep your job and get the man.

And if you work in the Mens underwear department, they may ask you if they look okay. It's win win.

I think it's not just a bad idea, I think it's a terrible idea.

First, the dude may be less likely to report it, but he may be more likely to punch you. Also he's there to shop, not flirt.

Second, it will likely cost you your job. You're there to work, not flirt, and definitely not to pick up.

If you want to pick up, go to a bar, or use the internet, it is TOTALLY unprofessional to pick up at work.

I myself am gay, and if I were your boss and saw you trying to pick up a customer, or heard of it, I would fire you for being totally unprofessional.

You are a representative of JCPennies. So unless the store actually passes down new rules of conduct that allow this, don't cross that line.

i wouldn't ask anyone out while on a job. Now it is completely different if they ask you out. You could very-well get fired. After work do it and ask people out.
At work you are supposed to be working and concentrated on helping the customer and making that final sale, not asking people for numbers and dates.

Hope you find a date soon, after work.
Good luck and have a good day.

Yes, stick to your job. Be friendly and pleasant, smile. If a customer likes you, they know where you work and they'll be back.

i mean, we do always see it on tv - but it tends to be the other way around. like "when do you get off work??"

i think it might be alittle inappropriate (no offense or antyhing though!!) cause i mean, i feel like it would be really uncomfortable if he said he cant or he's not gay or anything like that. but i mean if youre really feeling it and think its going your way,

then go for it if you feel its right!

good luck!

It's a great way to get fired. If that's your goal then go for it!

I can tell you this: If you come on to me while I'm shopping at JCP I'm going right to your boss.
