Jennifer and I decided to stay in on Saturday night, and invite our friends Robert and Jean for dinner and a rousing game of charades. We had prepared our famous cocktail-wieners-in-a-blanket appetizers and planned to serve Jennifer's much-ballyhooed tuna casserole. It was going to be one exciting night, I tell you!
A few minutes after 5:00 p.m., Robert and Jean rang the doorbell, and I went to let them in. I opened the door and saw Jean and Bob in the most ridiculous outfits! Jean was wearing some sort of informal summer dress with a floral print, and Bob had on Kakhi pants and a polo shirt. We TOLD them dress would be business casual.
"Sometimes I have the paralyzing suspicion that you're trying to be funny," I exclaimed to them. "I TOLD you about the night's planned activities."
"Yeah, yeah," Bob muttered glumly, shooting a disgusted glance at Jean. "It's just that, we figured -- oh, I don't know -- if we were going to play charades, we MIGHT want to wear something comfortable to move around in. Besides, I don't want to have to take my suit to the cleaners after rolling around on the floor." Bob seemed oddly hostile.
"You have a point, Bob. An idiotic one, but a point, " I conceded graciously. "This will detract from the majesty of dancing to "Be bop a lu la" later in the evening, but you and Jean are our guests. We'll make you feel welcome no matter how ill-conceived and inappropriately you're dressed."
Jennifer broke out the hors d'oeuvres and we enjoyed some convivial conversation. After the luscious tuna casserole, Jennifer surprised all with that Italian ice cream that is so continental. "Ahhhhhhh. . . . . .spumanti!" I exclaimed. Bob shot me a look that insinuated I was the most ignorant jerk on the planet. I'll bet HE didn't know the correct term for the ice cream.
Finally, after the dinner, we got down to fun and games. Bob was right in the middle of acting out a movie title, when he clutched his chest and sunk to the floor. He seemed short of breath.
"TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD," I blurted out. But Bob was having an honest-to-god medical emergency. The worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades.
Bob is now doing fine. Jennifer and I have invited them back many times, but for some reason they always seem to be busy with other plans. Even so, it's good to have friends like Bob and Jean.

You know, the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades. Players think to themselves "sometimes I have the paralyzing suspicion that you're trying to be funny.." as you lie there, no cpr, nothing. Last time I played charades, I was trying to act out "be bop a lu la" but complained that it was impossible. The other players said "you have a point. An idiotic one, but a point." I got insulted, ran to the bathroom..I opened the door and saw my friend's mom, nearly passed out on the floor, wine glass in hand, sighing "ahhhhh, Spumanti." I never played Charades there again.

well you see the thing is i can do that. the other day i was writing a tune based around betty boop and i didnt want to use bop de bop so insted i used BE BOP A LU LA. the lyrics of this very tune were very moving an i have writing many a tune to capture peoples hearts. My most popular song is THE WORST TIME TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK IS DURING A GAME OF CAHRADES. and in this song i renact the time my friend billy had a heart attack during a game of charades making my team think he was being tommy cooper therefore losing our team £1500

The worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades, where the participant who is miming someone having a heart attack, suddenly clutches his chest and falls to the floor in an actual cardiac arrest. The audience applauded the performance's realism, and then told the person he could get off the floor now, except that the poor guy was turning blue. One of the observers, a medic, recognized the signs of an actual heart attack. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. Incidentally, the victim did recover.

Why is it that everytime we get ready for bed.... this issue comes up? You know... SOMTIMES I HAVE A PARALYZING SUSPISION THAT YOU 'RE TRYING TO BE FUNNY. I mean we just went through this last weekend. remember ? I OPENED THE DOOR AND SAW YOU IN MY UNDERWEAR?
