I have traced my family lineage and can prove that I am her 9th cousin. Her 8th great-grandmother and mine are the same person. I am in the US and planning to travel soon. I just need some information. Thanks all!

well in what areas do you think there may be problems?

if you march up to Buckingham Palace and demand to stay at Cousin Lilibet .. then OOOH YEAH there's gunna be problems ..
but if you are travelling just a tourist ..well nope there shouldn't be any ... just don't go telling everybody about it .. because basically they won't care other than thinking you're being somewhat pretentious

The only way to have your lineage traced without any doubts is to have it done professionally. You need to contact Burke's Peerage or Debrett's,both companies specialize in aristocracy and royalty so you'll be sure to get an accurate family line and history built. There are fees, but if you are claiming to be a cousin to the Queen you will need an accurate, professional history.
There should be no problems visiting the UK as a tourist,no matter who you are.But there could be problems of you claim to be related to the Queen and don't have concrete proof.

Littletex, here's wondering if we're also distant cousins because I'm a 10th cousin on the Queen Mum's side myself, according to Ancestry.com; or in other words, I can now take comfort in my politically incorrect (unverified by Burke or Debrett's) super WASP background. Just phone me, so I can grab my passport, and we'll drop in for tea at Buckingham Palace. I'm sure that the Queen is prepared for hordes of Texans descending upon her after her dealings with George W.

Of course, all the Brits reading this blog are thinking, "Thank God, the Colonies declared their Independence!" On second thought, if while visiting the British Isles any time in the future, if asked about my ethnicity, I'll just reply that I'm an American proud of her Scottish and English heritage.

No problem at all. The English are very welcoming. I would not mention your lineage though, unless it comes up in a conversation with a new friend.

They most likely would not believe you that you were her 9 cousin but before I go there I would call the queen herself or one of the people that work for her and tell them and see if there would be a problem because in some cases there would be a problem and in some there would not be.

I dont think that that is a problem at all, if you are the 9th cousing i dont beleive anybody will ever find that out by just looking at your passport.
