"Honest" Abe wasn't honest. He was a racist buffoon who went to war against the south because they seceded when he tried to loot them with an exorbitant tariff to provide pork barrel handouts for his buddies. He wanted to deport the slaves to Central America or Africa. He didn't actually free the slaves with the Emancipation Proclamation, as the slaves he "freed" were living in a foreign country over which he had no jurisdiction. He destroyed most of America with his unnecessary war. Take a look at these articles exposing Lincoln's corruption; http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig2/lincoln-arch.html
Grant was a total thief, worse than Lincoln. Rutherfraud Hayes stole an election from Samuel Tilden, a traditional Jeffersonian Democrat (the only Jeffersonian to be in office since the Civil War was Grover Cleveland). Garfield's assassination led to Arthur instituting Civil Service Reform, which corrupted the bureaucracy and led to big government. Harrison's incompetence left Cleveland with problems during his 2nd term that handed the Democrats over to the Socialists. Teddy Roosevelt was a warmongering fascist.
Warren Harding was honest and a pretty good president, but that was only because he didn't know what he was doing. Calvin Coolidge was a good president.
Herbert Hoover was a socialist who actually started the New Deal that made the Depression worse. Had he been what they say he was in the history books, the Depression would have been over in a year or less. See this article for more information; http://www.tribstar.com/business/local_story_161184037.html Eisenhower wasn't a bad president, except that his astroturf campaign in 1952 cost us Robert Taft, who would have been one of our best presidents. Nixon was a total crook. Ford was semi-honest, but he pardoned Nixon. Reagan lied about wanting to shrink the size of government and then went out and proposed budgets bigger than what the Democrats in Congress asked for. Bush I told Saddam to attack Kuwait and then backstabbed him. Bush II's crimes are well-known enough that they don't even have to be elaborated on.
With the exception of a few, most Republican presidents have been dishonest. So have most Democratic presidents since 1900. America's greatest presidents were almost entirely Democrats who ran the country in the 19th century, such as Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, van Buren, Pierce, Buchanan, and Cleveland.

Has their ever been an honest or competant democrat president? Just look, Perjuror Clinton (for at least 50 people being closely associated with him was a death sentence), Coward Carter (leader of the greatest country on earth and couldn't get back the hostages,) LBJ (being ahead of him put your back in danger), Kennedy clan of womanizers, Tax and Spend Truman, FDR (four or five years of Germany and Japanese atrocities and no action until we were attacked.)

Abraham Lincoln and Gerald Ford. As others have asked, name one Dem. President who was honest. Out of the four current and past presidents you listed can you please tell me which one was tried and convicted of ANY crimes? Clinton lost his license to practice law for being a LIAR ( please take note of spelling).
PS You might consider laying off the Michael Moore kool-aid

Gerald Ford was one effective GOP President, for his short interim term in office, and kept a good hold of his morals without overdoing it, he brought the country together after his former boss and Predecessor Richard Nixon had to step down in disgrace, he brought reconciliation. I'm not necessarily a fan of the GOP but Gerald Ford is the only U.S. President from the Republicans who stood as a well meaning person. Had it not been for Watergate Nixon could have ended two terms in office as one of the great President's had he not become overly arrogant and greedy for power, the GOP actually asked for his resignation and threatened impeachment if he didn't, I had to give this to the GOP that for that one time they stood on principle even at a cost to themselves, not like the gutless wonders who lost their party and let alone control of such with their over the top pandering of George W. Bush and his disfunctional and far from Conservative economic policies and the botched war in Iraq. The GOP has been it's own worst enemy lately.
