Wild celebrations at home plate are VERY common in walk-off situations (the winning run is scored by the home team in the ninth inning or later). This particular celebration was nothing unusual.
This walk-off win was especially dramatic and exciting because a deficit was turned into a win with one swing of the bat, one out away from defeat. What started as a bleak afternoon, down 5-0 before you even get to bat, turned into jubilation. That's reason to get excited.
Editorializing a bit, I'll say those celebrations are getting dangerous! Hitting a walk-off home run these days means you are about to get pummeled by teammates, and it gets quite violent! Ouch.

There are several very good reason you saw excitement from the cubs:
1- They are doing everything they can to stay in race with the Brewers this year. The were 7.5 games behind going into the game and the win put them 6.5 behind when it could have been 8.5 behind with a loss.
2- They were on a six game winning streak going into the game and a come-from-behind game like this keeps the momentum going.
3- The Brewers know they are going to have to beat the Cubs to win the division, and to lose a game like this really puts some negative thoughts in the minds of Brewer players, and the Cubs know this.
4- Anytime a team can score three runs in the last inning to win a game it is exciting and they were showing their emotions, as all teams would in a situation like this.
5- A come-from-behind win like that will have the cubs pumped up going into today's game while the Brewers will be down coming off a disappointing loss.
Every team in MLB would have had the same reaction, with a walk-off win such as this, and it was nice to see coming from a team that is trying to show their fans they mean business this year.

Did you see the game? That was an AMAZING comeback and an AMAZING homerun. After their comeback the other day after nearly losing it, they have to feel like they can't be beat by anyone right now. That was more than just a game for the Cubs. They put together an amazing comeback to beat a division leader, and they have to believe they have a real shot at the playoffs now.

becasue they were losing 5-0 and came back with a walk off home run. To come back like that is a huge deal for a team and the contiue thier winning streak. Let them have fun!!

Becasue it was a walk off home run and they are back at .500 for the record. They are finally starting to play baseball.
