Hotels in Scandinavia are pretty expensive, but I travel there quite a lot - I usually stay in one of the Scandics, which are part of the Hilton Group, but pretty cheap - www.scandic-hotels.com or you could try the Quality Inn hotel chain, they are pretty reasonable too - www.choicehotels.com, they have half a dozen hotels in/around Oslo. Or if all else fails, try www.laterooms.com

If you do not have that kind of money, the hostels in Scandinavia are pretty good too.

And do not forget to ask for the weekend and weekly rate in whatever hotel you go, as well as checking if they have a lower summer price, as many of the better hotels are for business men, and they travel less in summer.

Best and also the most expensive ones are: SAS Radisson, Grand Hotel and Continental Hotel, all situated downtown.
