Almost no one that I know even cares. I think it seems ignorant, half of enjoying music for me is the lyrics. I listen to various punk/thrash bands that fight for some sort of cause. Point is, almost all of the bands that I listen to have a big point. Nothing about what is going on in their life or pointless things. Does anyone else care?

Yes i do. I to have wondered if people care what they listen to.
Do they like the music for the beat? Or the Guitar solo's?
I mean yea, that's great and all, but really listen to what your music is saying.
I don't mean to trash some kinds of music but, I personally think Rap, Hip-hop, Metal and some Country aren't to good on the Lyrics bit. Rap and Hip-hop is all about going to parties getting hi or knocking up some girl. Metal is so angry, which maybe fine every know and than but please more variety. A lot of Country is about drinking ang and losing parts of your life, which again is OK when that happens, but everyday its a little' depressing.

The lyrics of a song are what make me enjoy a song even more. I know when I like the melody of a song, I always look up the lyrics. That is what makes or breaks a good song for me.
Lyrics can also make me dislike a song. If the lyrics are about something that I don;t agree with, I don't listen to that song.

i like lyrics that i can relate to in some way. unfortunately, the ones i love the most are off an album the band doesn't want out lol. but they really really get to me. a lot of what i like, i like for the music itself too. stuff that makes me just want to move, to get up and do things, or even speed if i'm driving lol. it all depends on the mood i'm in as to what i listen to. i honestly don't like a lot of the songs that have politcal lyrics. that is one of the topics i don't even discuss with friends because everyone has a different opinion and it always starts a fight. plus no one sees things the way i seem to and i may agree with part of a song, but not all of it

I listen to the lyrics all the time. My husband doesn't. He was singing some song and the lyrics were " I'm sorry I cheated on you, but I'm a man". I was like "what?" He was like "oh, I just like the beat."
CRAZY.

what i mostly care about is good lyrics and i agree with u 100% too bad all the songs today are about trash all u hear is i have money im fabolous & all this pointless crap.

I do.
I like songs with a whole different meaning than what you would think it is just by listening to the music.
But te music is important too.

Lyrics are what I like. That's why I like Bob Dylan so much. His songs say something.

I think I do. But sometimes if a song has a very catchy toon then I don't. Like Shakira's songs. :D
