Obviously 1 and 2 have valid clues. To more directly answer your Q however, "IT can't be"

In many ways certainly; Plastic is the most widely used substance on the planet, and was never designed to VANISH. In that sense it's a lot like GOLD, in that it may be changed in form, but takes on another form in any process.

Even to burn or melt it, what is created is just another form of the substance. It is as much a curse as a blessing, and hopefully recycling will be less expensive, and our NEW production will allow the use of recycled.

Other than, and beyond that we are deep in Doo as far as ever erradicating plastic.

Yes, you can recycle it. Unlike what others say you can burn it. Plastic is made up almost entirely of hydrogen and carbon. If you burn at a high temperature it you get water H2O (water) and carbon dioxide. If there is a smell it is only from incomplete combustion. Plants can then recycle these materials which is where the plastic came from in the first place (indirectly through oil.)

Best method to get rid of unwanted plastics is to recycle it. See if your area takes part in a recycling program. This is envirmoentally friendly, and will be used to make new plastic stuff, and costs you nothing to do. Good luck :)
