So, it would never occur to you that they're telling you both, that you don't know the truth, and that you're not free?

Consider the permutations "you {shall, do, don't} know the
truth, and the truth {shall, will, won't} set you free".
It seems contrary that "shall" could ever be used in the
first set. Either you {do, don't} know the truth is relevant
because conclusions of the present can't be based on
per-chance of the future.
In the second set, only "shall" could be used without
arriving at pre-determinant precision. Both {will, won't}
suppose the determination of the {do, don't} of the
future, and the interval between the present and the
future is variable debunking the conclusive application
of {will, won't}.
Therefore, the only authentic applications of the quote
must be "you {do, don't} know the truth, and the truth
{shall} set you free".

Perhaps there is something I donot know about something or someone and the person who tells me I shall know the truth knows something about it.
Ignorance of the truth leads us to wrong decisions and right judment. If I had been deceived or I was ignorant of the truth, the truth will set me free from deception and my ignorance.
I don't have to fear hiding something if I am hiding something, and if I have been deceived and it has led me to do wrong, the truth shall now guide me to do right and judge rightly.

Truth doesn't exist. Have you read "Uno, nessuno e centomila" by Luigi Pirandello? (the English version would soun like "One, none and a hundred thousand ") In this book, the Nobel prize winner describes how each of us has its own reality... In fact, we all have our thousands of realities each... So, the only true thing on Earth would be the passing of time, because we all have to grow old. Nobody escapes the trap of time. Besides time (I would say that there are 2 truths in this world: birth and death) there is nothing in this world that can be considered true, because everyone has its own truth. Only God knows all our truths.
My answer is a little bit philosopyc,,, but this is the philosophy corner, isn't it? I hope it will help you.

They are telling you to know the real truth of life, it is not all about desire or materialistic, but more on physcological freedom and peace in mind. In life you gain some and you lose some, so how do you overcome it and set free for yourself? Know the truth....! Cheers....!

That means that...well...ever notice that when you lie or hide something for a long time, it feels really bad? Well, what that's saying is that the truth can free you from that.
