this is a 2 phase operation. You have to have an electrician set up the new meter in the desired location. Then the electrician will contact the power company so they can successfully set the new meter up with power to the correct spot. Then once the meter is hooked up properly, the power company will send power. Overall a potential 2 day process. Contact any master electrician, they will be able to help you. Good Luck

Here any thing from the meter out is the electric companies responsibility . But if you move the meter you will need to rewire on your side also. So bottom line is both a private electrical contractor and the electric company.

In most cases the meter mounting and / or removal is done by a private electric contractor.
The electric utility will not, in most cases, move it.
The electric utility will move the electric feed once the meter has been moved.
Often a new meter box is installed and connected in by the electrical contractor. The utility is notified and a day is set for the transfer. At transfer time, both the utility and the electric contractor are present to coordinate things. This way you are without power only for a short time.

I am sorry but the answer from GTB is very wrong. The electric board will move the meter and it will cost a lot.Your electrictian will then have to move the main consumer unit or fuse box to be within 2meters of the main meter board.

I think you would be best off contacting the supplier who installed the electric meter in the first place, failing that, you could ask your electricity supplier, hope that helps.

If you are in the UK then only the supplier can move the meter, you are not permitted to tamper with their apparatus as it has a lead seal

You're local electrician (licensed) can do it, but it's a big job, assuming you want to move meter means complete board.

You need to contact your electricity supplier, who will then arrange for it to be done. Nobody else can do it for you.
