A difference *to* the benefit? Wouldn't the benefits of rights just be that equality is finally achieved for LGBT people and that we would no longer have to worry about bias from a legal standpoint?
Maybe you mean *for* the benefit of LGBT rights. If that's the case; then I'd say the biggest difference maker would be people understanding that being LGBT is not a choice. The people who are consistently attacking us, and claiming we should have less rights are doing so because they're saying we *chose* to be how we are, and that it's an immoral choice. If these claims were squashed (which they should have been already) then there wouldn't be a proverbial leg to stand on by a legal standpoint for LGBT people to not have legal rights.
EDIT: And I'm proven right by the poster who posted right before me. "Today's Prophet", what a joke of a name that is for him.

This may sound very rude and very mean, but I believe the real difference would be made by reaching a breaking point.
In other words, if there's another person murdered for their sexual orientation that may be the breaking point, after which there will be a push towards LGBT rights in the USA.
It's like how 9/11 had to happen in order for the US to get better security measures in place, the same must happen for LGBT people. Because for some reason people in the USA aren't moved unless some huge tragedy happens.

A major difference would be if everyone would finally realize that everyone on the planet is different, and since we are different, we can learn from each other.
Everyone also needs to realize that because a certain lifestyle is not their preference doesn't mean it's a bad lifestyle or that it's wrong.
We should all accept what each of us are, and find the best in each other . When everyone accepts what everyone is, then we will all live happier, more productive lives.

WHY should the lgbt's have any more or less rights than ANYONE else...
lgbt should NOT have ANY rights - because it's THEIR decision TO BE lgbt...
and that decision is the second WORSE decision a person can make... associating with religion being the WORST decision...
good LIFE decisions = EQUAL RIGHTS;
BAD LIFE decisions (being religious, being lgbt...) = NO EQUAL Rights...
Can You understand that NOW, lgbt one ???
Here's the simply Solution for ALL the lgbt's and religion:
Create a Private, Personal, Direct, Divine Relationship with Our Creator and save Your Soul from religion's and atheist's beliefs and start Your journey back home, to Heaven.
<<<<<<< UnConditional Love is the only answer >>>>>>>
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
