I do have a hard time accepting compliments, but now I try not to show it in front of my 11 yr old daughter. I don't want her to learn from my own insecurities .

I can take one (of course, I love it when my ego gets a bit inflamed), but if I know it's not true I'll just fake smile. And with sincere ones I sometimes get embarrassed and don't know how to react...

I hate it when people give me compliments.....I know it sounds weird but I always think they're lying when they say something nice. Like, I feel they're just saying it to be polite but they don't really mean it. The thought is nice I guess, but it never makes me feel happier....I just say thank you and smile though.

I try to.... it's sometimes hard if you don't have as high of an opinion of yoruself. If you said "you're smart", I'd say "thanks!" If you said that I looked lovely today, I'd probably still say "thanks!" But, if you told me that I looked great in a bathing suit, I'd probably laugh.
