Is it complicated? I have satilite t.v. and want to be able to watch/record shows on my home computer.

You need the TV tuner card. It plugs into your backplane like any other accessory card and has video connectors that stick out from the back of your computer. It will take your TV feed (from a splitter) and let you store it to in-computer storage. The card is typically about $125 - $150.

Hi Vicki,

It can be done but I think getting a stand alone DVR might be a better way to go.

To record video on your computer you need a device like DVD Xpress.

With DVD Xpress you can transfer your video to your hard drive and then edit it if you desire. DVD Xpress comes with basic video editing software. I got mine at Sam's for $59.95. They are cheaper now. You can look at one & read about it here - http://www.usb-ware.com/ads-dvd-xpress.htm

You connect the composite output of your DVR into the DVD Xpress and connect the DVD Xpress to your computer via a USB cable.

You will be recording in real time so a two hour show will take two hours to record.

Good Luck,

Norm
