Any of the Indy cars you win from the endurace races. Or you could just go buy a Mercedes SLR McLaren and juice it.

The escudo WAS a great car in GT3. But they screwed it. it only has like 500 HP and you cant upgrade it anymore ^tear^

My answer is the Polophony Formula Car. Unlockable in 24hr-Nurburgring Endurance race, It has excellent handling, acceleration, and just enough speed to win nearly any race (As for Formula GT Cup, which all are the same as you, no worries about that, it's an even match and it's possible to win with proper strategy). If you want to sell it, you can get a reasonably high amount of cash to buy something else.
Want a better one, complete the game and get a "black edition" Formula Car. has unbelievable overall performance and resales at around 1,000,000 credits!!
THIS IS THE GREATEST OVERALL CAR IN GT4!!!!!
(sorry Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak, you have been outmatched.)

I think the best car is Escudo from Suzuki, but to unlock it is very difficult.
