When I look at the moon and it is full, I get the feeling of being alone on a ship, in the ocean at night, just drifting away, but if the moon is 1/4 or 1/2 full I think of Pink Floyd and the dark side of the moon.

Oh, the whole point is to avoid thinking,
at least when looking at the Moon.
Why take the trouble to gape at moon, if thinking is important.
Poets will vouch, that poem poured out of them when they looked at the moon, only when they just merged, dissolved into the spectacle, not 'thinking' about it. May be we can describe what we 'felt' (the inner experience)when we looked at the Moon. Each time, the experience is afresh.

I feel i am at peace with myself. I think about how lonely, yet how peaceful it would be. I wouldn't mind living on the moon, just as long as other people could be there too. oh and air, air would be nice, trees, colour, more colour to the moon instead of white or grey.

Last night it rained, but, the night before it was low in the sky a full, would have been perfect round last night. I thought how majestic it looked and thought of those I love.
I think of the Moon as a measure of love and happiness. Sometimes it not show much in our lives, but, as in life there are those nights love and happiness are full and glowing.

i gaze up at the stars and see a state of beauty. I look to my right in the sky and see the moon providing us with light. its natural beauty overwhelms in a state never experienced before. everything around me silences as i feel calm and relaxed. my worries go away lean back and feel joy, nature, and calmness explode around me.

Is that really there randomly?

i.e: if it was just a few miles nearer or further, the whole ocean & tide thing wouldn't work properly.

from this I usually start thinking, what about all those other billions of 'coincidences?'

it would take more blind faith to be an atheist!

Why is it so far from Mankind's reach? Why can't I touch it whenever I want to?
But then I think to myself maybe it's for the best; so that we can't turn the night's beauty into a twin of Earth: a hell-like planet! (But humans are reaching above really easily nowadays)
Thank you
