I had brake parts posted to Europe at a cost of £27.45 - should have take 5-6 days but in reality took 2 weeks. I had to buy local as I could not wait. RM refused to offer any compensation. NEVER AGAIN!!

It was a scandal when a couple of years ago Royal Mail owned up to disposing of mail and packages just because it could not keep up with the backlog and run a normal service...nobody was accountable even though possibly it cost millions of pounds to business and indiviudals... We lost a packet worth 30 pounds ...
They reduce staff and shut down offices and then when they do get business they havent got the infrastruture to deal with it...they have becaome more brand aware in order to make profit whilst the bedrock service goes down hill....
Its not true that since the computers have come this has depleted the number of mail..as internet shopping and ebay has increased and E Commerce has proliferated items sent by Royal Mail,..,
Maybe one day we may get a better competitor who decides they can run teh same service and better...?

With people like you slagging them off for their "european" service, Not long I should imagine. As another person ahs pointed out, Royal Mail only deal with the mail in this country. The "european bit" is dealt with in the other country. 2 weeks is quick for some parts of Europe. Stuff posted to greece has taken as long as 3 months to arrive. That is not the fault of Royal mail but of the greek postal service and the lack of addresses in remoter parts!

Royal Mail doesnt deliver abroad it passes it over to the country's concerned delivery service take it up with them.
