I not think I can help much on here. I can see how they made and it probably be easy. The Boom itself is about 2 1/2 inch diameter, I guess aluminum. I would make a brace to attach it to the side of the boat (Brace like a small rollbar on a 4 wheel drive. Have the boom so it may adjust up/down. Tie ropes from the outer end and run forward to stabilize.
If, you know someone or can even go look at a boat shop. Take a pen and paper and a pocket ruler 10 feet. Do at little measuring and drawing. May even ask if they have a parts printout. This would give you some visuals and then do your measuring.
