It is said that experience is the best teacher; it may not exactly be so but it sure does clear your mind a bit about most things.
I'm really happy for you that though you went through hell, you still made it through 'cuz only survivors live to tell the story, and by God's grace you are one.
Well, 'm not actually a parent yet but your story really touched me; it reminds me of a friend of mine who went through a similar situation but this time it was her uncle and her aunt who maltreated her and her sister when their mum was away.
Sure enough, it was terrifing, like a reoccuring painful nightmare but at that point in their lives they had to go through it and they survived it. It was some time before their mum found out and they were rescued. Though it left a bad scar in their lives, it made them stronger and they are still alive today.
At the end, be grateful to God that you are able to give the love and affection to your kids that you always longed for but couldn't get then. In the end, you'll be the best mum they ever and will ever have.

Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I was beat as a child and when I got married and had children, I was mean to them, when it came to punisment! I thought that it was ok to punish them, the same way I got punished! I thought this was a natural thing to do! No one taught me different. Thank God all my 7 children turned out ok and don't hate me! Granted some kids of today could use a good spanking, because they are not respectful etc.

All I ever learned in my childhood was being the center of every single person's jokes, been called everything from a female dog to a weirdo to a dummy to a liar, being yelled at and beat up on by my parents and their so-called friends, and most of all, being the prime guinea pig of everyone's b.s. matchmaking schemes.
Nonetheless, if any man, including Tobey Maguire, ever tries to get involved with me, then they will most definitely be beaten up by my father's iron pipe. I am definitely not allowed to have any man, including Tobey Maguire, get involved with me, because of my dangerous childhood past and my weird adulthood future.
I deserve to be alone and lonely for the rest of my life. It is THE only way everyone in the world, including Tobey Maguire, will be super duper safe.

I learnt a few things about the adults:
- Not all adults are to be trusted
- Not all adults tell the truth
- Not all adults have your best interests at heart
- Not all adults have got the answers you want to hear!
