Yes, just keep depressing the clutch pedal, shift to first, release the clutch pedal, inch forward, depress the clutch pedal, shift to neutral, release the clutch pedal, and so on. Whatever you do, don't keep the car in gear and control your motion using the clutch pedal, not for more than a fgew seconds anyway, as this wears the clutch plate rapidly and replacement is expensive. I regret to say that the auto gearbox is the best ever invention for driving in heavy traffic, but take heart from the fact that some countries largely shun auto boxes - the UK, for instance - and most people are driving the way I described. You get used to it.

Practice... Either ride the clutch or do like your doing pull foward smash in the clutch coast click into neutral release the clutch stop and go. On hills it can be even more fun if the person behind you gets right up on your bumper. Holding the clutch in wears the throw out bearing and loads the crankshaft of the motor on the thrust bearing inside the engine. Either way in heavy traffic clutch in and out remaining in first gear or clutch pull neutral coast. methods are fine.

try learn how to balance between the clutch and the accelerator , this gives you the rythm of the car and allows you drive with a steady flow . This can also apply when accending a slope , you can use this without applying break

hold clutch to the floor and leave it in 1st,you may need to get out of the way someday, and that xtra second you save by not having to put the car back in gear, may save a life someday. think about it.

It's called USING THE FRIGGIN' CLUTCH.

That pedal on the left side is not for resting your foot on. When you pull up to a stop sign... HOLD THE CLUTCH IN..
