I have been expecting a home delivery from 9am-11am from Tesco
They have not bothered to call me to tel me the delivery will be late or anything, it is me that has to call them, for them to say that they will call me back. They have not.
The driver is not answering his phone either.
I have looked online and it is saying that the items have been delivered.
They have taken the money off my card.
What can I do?

The man in the call centre said that the driver tried our intercom and we did not respond!
We have been listening out in the time slot and been looking out of the window and could not see the c*nting van!!
I am so furious!

call the store or hotline again and demand to speak to somebody there and then, Dont accept them saying they will call you back. But if that is the only option. Call, let them tell you they will call back and ask for the call takers name and then just keep calling. until they call you. Ask to speak to a manager. If they have taken the money and you have no product this is not right.
But to answer you q its not theft yet... Well not unless the driver has intent to perminently deprive you of you food or products. Dont go hungry....good luck

Phone the homeshopping helpline, theycan keep you on the line while they contact the store on your behalf to find out whats going on, it is perfectly normal for them to deliver stuff several hours late, because they are a bit useless!!
You can tell the driver that you are not happy it is late but don't have a go at him as someone suggested, it might not be his fault, it could be that the store were late in getting the stuff packed and ready to leave, or he had to go back because they forgot something, stuff like that happens all the time, and you are not going to feel any better by having a go at him, best to lodge any complaints with the helpline or the store manager, who can actually do something about it.
The reason it says it has been delivered is because it has been dispatched from the store, which is also when the money was debited from your card, so it will be on the way, it's just that they are running late. If you call and complain they will refund your delivery charge.

In answer to your question is it theft? No.
You do not have proof that the goods have not been delivered somewhere.
As for them having taken the money off your card, you have paid for the goods you are waiting for.
If the delivery is late, which it is, then contact them again and ask what has happened.
If you cannot get a satifactory answer, tell the person that you speak to that you do not like the answers you are getting from them and ask to speak to their superior.
Do all this in a cool calm and collected way. Do not get angry, even if you feel like doing so.
There could, after all, be a very reasonable explanation for the delay. There could be a traffic jam, an accident, a flood, any or all of the above. Good luck.

The website will update automatically when the items are shipped.
You would have been asked to sign for the goods, Tesco use an electronic system that stores the signature. You need to go to the nearest store, this is where your goods will have been shipped from. Go to the customer service desk and demand to speak with the duty manager. Once you have explained the situation you should get this resolved. If not, tell them you are going to speak with your solicitor and you will see them in small claims court!

Need to call your local store and speak to a manager and explain the situation as he may have more information and may take your issue more seriously...also the deliveries come from the local store so they should know....
then complain like hell to Tescos HQ for their lack of help....
This isnt theft until you can prove that Tscos or an employee have taken off with your goods...

Probably give them another hour. The goods have left the store on the van so it is down to the driver. He is probably having his lunch or spending time with one of his lady customers. Have a go at him when he arrives. Unless there is a very good reason get his name and report the matter to the manager of your Tesco store. It is probably just this driver that is causing the problem Other drivers from he same store might be far more reliable..

tesco are wankers, we got our christmas shopping from them last year via online. the delivery was late items were damaged and our turkey was out of stock so they replaced it with a turkey crown which we werent informed about even though they had our phone number and email. when it arrived i went through every item and edited his delivery sheet accordingly before signing his docket. we got money refunded the next day and a 25 quid voucher. phone tescos and complain, if they try to fob you off tell them on the delivery docket that was supposedly delivered does the drivers tachometre add up. if his tacho doesnt add up you have them for theft.

i used to work for tesco home shopping - phone the store and ask to speak to the home shopping manager tell them it's urgent, tell them you want answers NOW or you will be on the phone to head office -that normally gets a result! if you do phone head office they're ususally pretty good if shopping has been given to someone else by mistake or whatever they'll refund you no problem (hopefully!)
