whoever dunnit, left their cars in very obvious and illegal places. Wouldn't you think thatthey would have left them as unobstrusive as poss? Does this theory mean I have terrorist tendencies[I haven't honestly]

Perhaps they wanted the satisfaction of blowing up a police officer before anyone else. They also wanted to produce the maximum effect, which means putting them where the crowds are. A bombed car in a quiet back street might only destroy property. They were after people.

Unobtrusive probably wouldn't have caused the casualties that the terrorists were looking for.

Knowing the laxity of police, they probably figured it'd be hours before they got around to investigating the illegally parked cars.

Weird isn't it, both didn't go off, and now we're all on high alert and not paying too much attention to George Brown taking over...sort of putting attention on something that didn't happen, while we have to be grateful we have a strong PM and Home Secretary in charge now.....conspiracy or what?

well they would have known they would be touched and maybe that was what was supposed to set them off? i dont know..... am just thankful they didnt go off.
