....can these most prominant and influential investigative celebrities, be considered modern-day 'muck-rakers', on the same level of say, Upton Sinclair, who in 1906, exposed corrupt and shoddy conditions in meat packing plants, with a candid, eye-opening book, entitled "The Jungle"? (which quickly led to the formation of the USDA)

...or are they, to put things into 'bare-bones' basic perspective, merely manipulative, spotlight-grabbing, truth-enbellishing megaphones???

Granted, these respected individuals ARE most entertaining, and the revelations they uphold ARE compelling and eye-opening, but the more one looks under the covers, and behind the scenes, the more one can find the many holes, contradictions, exaggerations and misdirected truths in their supposed investigative findings.

...your thoughts, if you please!!! Thanks in advance!!!

Have never had respect for Al Gore. His propaganda crap and "Global Warming" is a joke.
As far as Michael Moore - the only nice thing I can say about him is I like his new documentary "Sicko". It brings out the true fact on health care in this country. The USA is ranked 37th in the world for health care for our citizens. I'm in agreement that all Americans should have free government health care. The terrorists inmates at Club Gitmo get all the free dental, medical treatment and everything else that'll keep them well... while guys from "ground zero" have health problems and the government won't help these "heros", just isn't right.

Micheal Moore follows the beat of his own drums and doesn't even make friends on the liberal side.

I just saw his movie (it's not a documentary) and wrote a review of it.

to label michael moore and al gore as journalists is an insult to the press everywhere. michael moore has and always will be a liberal media lapdog, dangerously unaware of what role the truth rather and liberal innuendo plays in modern day life and as for al gore, you can judge his credibility by his KNOWING participation in the clinton:"legacy:

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court
precisely how is that type of behavior respected?
compelling, no. sad yes.

muckrackers expose and talk about things people just wont talk about. by that definition moore spurlock and gore are modern day muckrackers. they try to give both sides too, but a defensive attitude by a group just spurns on a muckrackers to dig into and expose more things
