sweetheart, as you have seen, I isolate when I am depressed leaving the number one relationship to work it out. usually my depression is because people places or things are not my way. When I stop trying to be #1 and let God have his power back the depression goes away. Knowing this still doesn't help when you are surrounded with crises.

I thought about it when I was a teenager. However all I could think about at the time was my brother and sister and also I didn't want to be found. I didn't end up running away as a teenager, but I needed the help of a social worker to move out when I was 20. My mother thought she could control my life, even at 20, because she couldn't control her own. My mother is an alcoholic. No I do not regret moving out when I did, or even how I did. I have learnt most of my life skills because I moved out. I realised just after I moved out, that my mother didn't teach me anything about life, or how to keep a house. I probably would not have started uni either if I didn't move out. The only thing she taught me about money was how to use an ATM and Eftpos. That's it. Not all parents are like that. I realise that. But also depending on the person, 17 is actually a reasonable age to move out. You don't know what is going on inside your sister's head and neither do I. Maybe she just needs space. Becoming an adult is a very confusing time, that much I can tell you.

I'm not good at handling my own depression. If my friends ask me out, I'd go. Else I'll just do something here in my room, playing the guitar or watching movies. Then I just go to sleep and usually I'll wake up feeling better the next day

Sometimes it is hard to talk to anyone, isn't it? I usually call someone, but people are so busy with their lives that it turns into a very short conversation. I started going to a life coach, and that has helped immensely.

What office? You can turn to family, friends, GOD, therapists...look, you just turned to complete strangers. Everyone gets depressed sometimes, when it doesn't go away there's a problem. Otherwise, it's normal.

Try to think about atleast one good thing you have going for you...go home, turn on the radio, take a warm bath, call up a friend and go have dinner.
IT will get better!

I often got depressed but thankfully... My best friend is always there for me, so is my mum. ^_^
But there are some things that I can't tell to my mum or my best friend, so that's when I started to share with my contacts from Yahoo!Answers... I hope you can talk to me too when you have time.

I draw, write, and do art work.
Or just sit, till it passes.
For a long term solution, read some books on Zen, by D.T. Suzuki.

I usually run to my ex-husband, just because he knows me so well and is easy to talk to. Call a long time friend or family member. Thats what friends and family are for....to pick you up when you are down!
