planning a 3week break and would like to cycle from london to the alps take a train here and there to save time but what route can i take thanks?

Or buy a guidebook, there are several long-distance tracks and tours.

My parents have used their bikes in France often and did like the nature and the way the French treated them while on the smaller roads, but they found it better to avoid the main roads and highways, as they are very busy and the cars can not give you space when they pass you.

One of the trips they made was a 'long distance' Amsterdam to Paris trip. (They were 70 then, it took them about ten days.)
