I think, personally, that the point of bringing life into the world is the possibility of creating a harmonious world at some point in time. Parents don't usually think "I am going to try and create the next CEO of Barnes and Noble." I believe that most parents want to either
1. give someone else the same beautiful life they had or
2. try their hand at being a better parent than their own parents.

I think its like a revolving door, as the old get older and pass on, The newborn comes into the world, to carry on, They are giving the tools each day of there lives, in hopes of achieving more that the generation before them.
