Just to add my two cent's worth to the above correct answer -

A "GPS position" is a numerical method of establishing a location on the earth's surface (or in the air or on a body of water). A GPS unit receives radio signals from multiple satellites to establish its position by triangulation, by calculating the length of time it took for the signal to reach the receiver.

There are two main methods of showing a posiiton that are useful to humans: (1) Latitude and Longitude and (2) a metric Universal Transverse Mercator Grid.

"Lat's & Long's" are measured in degrees using the equator and the Greenwich Prime Meridian as zero references. Everything is east or west, or north or south, of those reference lines respectively. Lat and Long lines are useful in navigation but they are not square.

UTM grids project a curved surface onto a flat and square grid. The earth is not flat, so the grid has to be re-established to maintain a reasonably accurate grid at regular intervals. UTM grids are used in science and surveying because they are square metric grids using cartesian coordinates, and it's easy to plot a location on a map or calculate a distance from one point to another using basic trigonometry. Most countries have their own UTM grid references, and the larger countries have different zones. A system called WGS84 is used worldwide.

Google earth will show you the the equivalent of a "GPS Position" if you know where to look on a map, but to know a true GPS position you will need a GPS.

"Excess"? That is a word that mean "too much". Perhaps you mean "access", meaning "to get".

There are lots of GPS sites on the web, but they will not give you your position. That's because there is no way for another computer to know where you are, unless you tell it.
