Well, like many of the people who do not support or approve of homosexuality; he is uneducated about it (among other things), and probably doesn't really care if gay people get equal rights or not since it doesn't effect HIM.

Many people are this way actually. They will simply not support something (even if the people involved are in an unequal situation) just because they don't think it specifically benefits them or people they know; and they often already have rash "ideas" and assumptions against the issue in the first place.

I find this to be the true problem with electing good officials. As people are always going to go by their own personal biases, not what benefits equality or all people as a whole. I find the people who vote "no" on gay rights issues to be extremely selfish. It doesn't effect them in any way whatsoever, so why should they have the right to remove someone else's happiness just because they don't care about it?

have him lead the gay pride parade
date Anita Bryant.....sorry that's for us older gay people.

Come on, how can you think he'd possible further equality for gay people when the white house has a "dick, bush, and colon?"

"Unn.. yea... (Skip a line) ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!" :p
I'm sorry, but President Bush isn't exactly helping the cause. :P
Why are the Phelps still around then? :P
Oh well... I'm a straight Christian, but I refuse to join into the "Homosexuality is wrong" crowd. What's sad is that if I hadn't put "Straight" before my religious beliefs, I probably would have been called a you know what by someone that might be a fellow Christian.

Bush has helped gays and lesbians and the funny thing is he's too stupid to realize it. I won't expound. We should see what I'm referring to in 2008 - 2012.

It isn't so much a question of furthering the cause. It's more like trying to make the cause non-existent.
