This question is for Tigers fans. I was looking through my grandparents' attic and found a baseball with signatures on it. Turns out, it is signed by the entire 1984 World Series Tigers team along with manager Sparky Anderson and the owner, Monaghan (sp?) Beautiful shape, the signatures are all clear. There are four hall of famers on this ball. So, how much is this ball worth?

If the ball is hand signed by all the players and in as good condition as you say it is, you would have a real prize and should have it appraised and the signatures verified. There are approved sources that will research and provide you with a certificate of verification on the signatures. Unfortunately, In the 1970's and 80's all of the world series winners created "stamped signature" balls by the tens of thousands and they are very common. A hand signed ball by all the 1984 Tiger players could be worth $500, or more, while the stamped ball would be in the $20 to $30 range. You really need to look closely to see what you have.

It depends on whether or not you can verify the signatures or not. The value is much higher if you can prove that all of them are legit then if you can't. Its hard to put a value on this sort of thing but I would say it might be in the neighborhood of $150 or so. Thats just a guess so take it for what its worth. If it was me I'd keep it just because its kind of cool, but thats just me.

That team was a very good one.Myself, I would keep the ball if i was a Tigers. That ball could be worth hundreds, yet if no one is willing to pay the price...what is it worth. I have some very nice collectibles from Cleveland...yet know unless I get a Indians fan...few would give me market value.
I am sure there is collectors books on cards and other sports stuff that would give you your information.
