David Lee Roth put Van Halen on the map with his vocal talent. Sammy had a minor career and took over after VH had their sucess

As a singer, Sammy Hagar! But with Van Halen I liked David Lee Roth. But as a singer with a solo career, I would have to give it to Sammy Hagar.

i prefer sammy hagar on van halen. david lee roth's radio show was pretty cool, im not sure on who has a better solo career. I guess i just like sammy better

it is close but david lee roth was a better lead singer for van halen, but sammy definately had a better solo career but i think david lee roth was a better overall singer than sammy

The Red Rocker by far.If you have never seen him in concert,you are missing one hell of a perfomer.I have seen him twice.He brings a totally different style to Van Halen.I think David Lee Roth had an excellent voice to be a blues style singer,an awesome one at that.Sammy is far better,no contest.
