I live in Sydney&quiet spots to sit and relax tend to be rare. My fiance&I were glad to finially find one- a park/playground with river one side, forest/swamp the other. However it puzzled us that on some days there would be about 30 cars parked there with no people visible. Then we noticed all the condom wrappers&used condoms&realised most of the cars belonged to men that snuck off into the bushes, closely followed by another male a few minutes later. Men in cars cruise up&down staring at the men who stand next to their cars&taking their pick. At night, they have sex in the play ground and picnic table area. There are condoms galore...most new comers don't realise&just let their kids run barefoot through the park.
I'd be just ticked off if they were straight not gay, I just think they should 'get a room' &clean up after themselves.
I think its sick that a kids park became a hook up joint.Kids running around stepping on used condon isn't right
What would you do to put an end to it?

Local police are useless...and that's putting it politely. A neighbour was firing a gun at 2am as a joke and the police wouldn't send anyone out although they are only a mile down the road

Same thing happens near where I live, I have small children and it just disgusts me knowing what is happening there. Id voice my concerns with the police as I have done here. They reguarly patrol the area, and it seems to have had a bit of an impact on visitors to the area, take down rego numbers, or even address your concern to your local council. Suggesting they provide more bins, or clean the place up. extra lighting in the park may also put them off. Good Luck,

Bring it to the attention of park services. Tell them it's ruining the enjoyment of the park for other people. Maybe they can start keeping an eye on it and run off the riff raff.
Take it into your own hands. gather neighbors and friends and clean up the park, Bring people back in the park so it's no longer considered a good place for a hook up joint and instead is a good place for family. If the police wont do anything then YOU have to. The question is, How bad do you want it?

Sydney is one of the gay capitals of the world and in spite of laws to stop vilification of gays they're still hiding in closets. What you describe is the tip of the iceberg. There are many more activities in relation to gays that the police could target. Try the local council regulations. Get some signatures of those that support your point of view..

If the police doesn't care, try getting your local news paper or television station involved. They may be able to get enough attention drawn to what's happening so the cops will do something.
