I never seem to get further than the old "hey there, how's the missus, what about this weather, eh?". I'd like to spice the conversation up.

No. I once had a cactus, it got bumped of of it's shelf, then run over by my (ex) girlfriend with the sweeper. He then got tossed out. Despondent over the loss, I tried to save him, doing battlefield surgery with duct tape, some water, things I had on hand.

He didn't survive. I mourn Spike to this day. Survivor guilt, perhaps.

..something like that.

I know Spike is out there, in a better place, hanging with others like him who did the mission, and paid the price.

One of the great tragedies of my life, among a few others, from friends I lost on active duty.

I don't really talk to my plants. I just water them, get the dry leaves, weed them, they are all in pots(500or more) keeps on growing.Ex. I have 15 kinds of hibiscus.Only 2 are in the ground,a double peach & a single peach flower up to 4 ft in height.I have 7 kinds of crotons on the ground.& other pine tree (pencil cut) the rest are all in pots. I talk more to my goldian finches chiko& chika more than anyhing else because they are just really happy with their chirping sounds & very colorful.& acknowledges me that I am around in front of their cage!! Those plants doesn't talk back to me.they are boring but very pretty to look at.

my strategy is to play them up against each other...like I'll take the one aside and whisper something and then all the others really strain to hear and without realising it, they've gown a millimetre...or I give another compliments really loudly...you should see them all trying to outdo each other...it's almost pathetic. Of course you get the stubborn ones and in that case only a threat works: "You'd better start growing or ....leaf my home...!"

No, I dont not talk to my plants. I think that it is very wierd that you try to have a conversation with something that wont/cant talk back. Go find some real people!

No, they died last year. Perhaps they got tired of living in the same house as me.
