Problem with the Yankees is they think they can buy a ring. they go out and buy the best free agent out there and the smaller market teams don't even have a chance to match what they offer. But there's one thing the Yanks can't buy and that is chemistry. All the players they have are used to being the focal point on their old teams. Also like someone else stated earlier, most are past their prime. I hate the Yankees and I feel that way ONLY because they feel they can buy anybody and I personally believe it takes away from the game

Honestly they are right where they should be. It was a flawed team from the start. 5 years ago they are awesome on paper, but the majority of the team is past their prime, especially on the pitching staff. You might expect more from them because of the crazy payroll, but that is mainly due to guys playing the tail end of contracts that they no longer deserve. The lone exception among the struggling players is Damon, I don't think anyone saw him getting old this fast....as for Abreu, Giambi, Clemens, etc you could see this coming.

They are absolutely a bust. They spend the most money and can get virtually any free agent they want. No doubt they should win.
